Bethany graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 1994 and immediately began her legal career as a Law Clerk with the Rhode Island Supreme Court. From 1996 to 2011 she made the Rhode Island Department of the Attorney General her home serving on units including the Grand Jury, District Court Unit as Chief, and the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit, and finally as Assistant Attorney General.

Bethany is a phenomenal litigator and has prosecuted hundreds if not thousands of criminal cases in RI in her 15 years of experience as a Criminal Trial Attorney. She has had close to 50 jury trials ranging from sexual assaults to Murder to White Collar crimes. Ms. Macktaz brings an awesome amount of in-court experience to her Family and Criminal Law practice.
